Xiaohu Guo obtained his PhD in parallel computing from the Institute of Computational Mathematics and Scientific/Engineering Computing of CAS, Beijing, China in 2004. He worked as a researcher in School of Mathematical Science, Department of Information Science, Peking University during 2004-2006.

He was UCLan’s HPC Facility manager in 2006-2009.  He worked with us on parallelization of CDS code.

He is currently a computational scientist at CSED, STFC, Daresbury Laboratory, Warrington, UK.

He has diverse experience in multi-physics and interdisciplinary research including Oceanography, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Image Processing and Image Reconstruction, in particular ocean modeling applications, materials science applications, software development for science and engineering applications, high performance computing and optimisation.

From 2011 Xiaohu is also a consultant for UCLan’s  HPC Facility.
