From October 15 to October 17, 2012, Andrei participated in a CECAM workshop “Structure, functionalization and dynamics of fluid interfaces” at the University of Zaragoza, Spain. On 17th of October he gave an invited talk “Simulation of block copolymer interfaces“.
Arriving to an ancient city of Zaragoza, which name derives from Caesar Agustus, was a bit strange jump from almost freezing night at Preston to +25C in Spain. Luckily, on the first evening there was a refreshing rain :-). The day of arrival was the end of the most important celebration in the city, veneration of Our Lady of the Pillar with a mountain of flowers next to a very impressive and rich cathedral. Streets, caffes were so full of people so you needed almost to squeeze in. The workshop was outside the city centre in a calm environment of super modern nano-science research buildings.
