Matt Watkins was external examiner for the PhD thesis of Mohammad Abdur Rashid, Department of Physics, University of Nottingham. His thesis was titled ‘Theoretical Interpretation of Scanning Probe Images of Molecules on Surfaces’, and used computational methods to elucidate the appearance of artifactual bond-like images in state-of-the-art dynamic force microscopy images.
