The Institute of Physics in London hosted the Physical Aspects of Polymer Science meeting from 7 – 9 September 2022, and Bart Vorselaars and Martin Greenall both gave talks at the event. Bart presented results demonstrating how a simulation method that includes compositional fluctuations can model effects in polymer blends that simpler techniques cannot, and Martin’s talk centred on a recent collaboration with experimentalists on producing polymer samples with very small-scale structure. A Lincoln PhD graduate, Javier Díaz, now in Lausanne, also presented work at the conference, giving a remote talk on the effect of flow on the microscopic patterns formed by polymers.
