Fabien Paillusson obtained a Masters degree in Theoretical Physics of Complex Systems in 2007 from University Pierre and Marie Curie in Paris, France. He obtained a Ph.D. in 2010 in the same university under the supervision of Jean-Marc Victor for his work on the modelling of nanoparticles interacting with DNA. He then moved to the UK to work on granular materials as a research associate in the group of Daan Frenkel at the University of Cambridge until 2013. The same year, he moved to Barcelona, Spain to work on electrokinetic phenomena and polydisperse systems as a research associate in the group of Ignacio Pagonabarraga. In Fall 2014, Fabien returned to the UK as a research associate in the group of Halim Kusumaatmaja at Durham University to work on lipid mesophases. In May 2015, Fabien joined the Lincoln School of Mathematics and Physics as a lecturer.

His broader interests lie in Theoretical and Computational modelling, Foundations of Physics, Physics and Maths Education, AI (Machine Learning and Automated Reasoning), Logic and Philosophy of Science.
