On Wednesday 4th December, Claire attended the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851’s Annual Reception; a great opportunity to network with other award holders, including postdoctoral Research Fellows, Industrial Fellows, Industrial Design Students and Enterprise Fellows, as well as the Commissioners and Committee Members.
The Commission owns “Albertopolis”, the area centred on Exhibition Road, London, including Imperial College, the Royal Albert Hall, the Natural History Museum, and the Science Museum.
The reception was held at The Smith Centre in the Science Museum. The Centre boasts a range of hand-picked historical objects from the Science Museum collection, including a replica pressure suit from the last mission to the Moon and the stunning Electrical Engineering Workshop painting by Terence Cuneo.
