1851 Alumni Science Evening

On Tuesday 4th February, Claire attended the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851‘s Alumni Science Evening, held at The Alan Baxter Gallery in Farringdon, London. The key note address “Stuff and Non-Sense” was given by award-winning designer Professor Chris Wise, who captured the Commission’s mission to celebrate the synergy between science, engineering and design.

As a final-year research fellow, Claire was invited to present a short talk about her research; her presentation was entitled “3D Printing Under the Microscope”. Guests also enjoyed presentations from research fellow Dr Zahid Padamsey, and industrial design fellows Andrew Anderson and Laurence Devesse, on the topics of of neuroscience, heat exchangers and forensics.
